Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY MCGILL Peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at Calvary Place Personal Care Home, Stanley passed away. Stanley will be missed by his wife June; three sons, Dale (Diane), Dwight and Marvin (Marlene) and daughter-in-law Joanne, as well as two grandchildren, Christine (Neal) and Michael (Terri-Lynn). He is also survived by three sisters, Edie (Don), Ruth and Adeline (Percy), many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as brothers-in-law, Art Leeson and Eric Evans; sisters-in-law, Gwen Barker and Janice Andrews (James). He was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Amy of the Riding Hill area near Gallivan, Saskatchewan; his sisters, Gerti (Reg), Eva (Eddy), Vivian and Elaine, his mother and father-in-law Eileen and Percy Barker and his brother-in-law Harvey Barker of Devlin, Ontario. Stanley was born on May 7, 1917 on the family farm, the only boy in a family of eight. He attended the Riding Hill School. In the 1940s he moved to Fort Frances, Ontario to find employment. In 1948 he was united in marriage to June Barker from the Box Alder area. In 1968 he moved his family to Winnipeg where he was able to fulfill his dream of being a long-distance truck driver. The family would like to thank the staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their excellent care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Elder Delbert Barker presiding. If friends so desire, donations in Stan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
