STELLA KIDD (nee EVANECKY) Stella passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at the Sharon Home at the age of 78. Stella was born in Winnipeg, MB, on November 17, 1928. She lived all of her life in Winnipeg, a long term employee of Reed Paper for over 20 years. Stella's life commitment was her family, raising her children in the family home on Inkster Blvd. Stella led an active life for many years. She loved to bake and cook, enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed sharing her interests with family and friends over a cup of coffee. Coffee was always on in Stella's kitchen. She leaves to mourn her four children, Ken and wife Elaine of West Vancouver, BC, Gary and Richard of Winnipeg, and Donna and husband Sid Hamdon of Pitt Meadows, BC. Lovingly known as Nanny, she will be missed by her three granddaughters, Jennifer, Christina and Nicole. Stella was predeceased by her sister Jennie; and parents Hazel and Stanley Evanecky. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St., with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks to the Sharon Home, Nada, Fern and Jenny and to the entire team of loving and caring staff on the 5th floor who became Mom's extended family in the last few years of her life. Your kindness will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Sharon Home.
