MARIA EPP 1913 - 2007 On February 21, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the Eastview Health Centre, Altona, MB. Although we mourn her death, we also welcome her final liberation from the frightening and demoralizing effects of Alzheimer Disease. Cherishing her memory are her daughters, Marlene Braun and Janet Horgan; four grandchildren, Sean (Sara), Michelle, Lisa, Carl; five great-grandchildren, Kristin and James Warren, Tyler Braun, Sydney, Sloan and Sophie Anne Horgan. She is also survived by sister-in-law Ruby Siemens; brother-in-law David Friesen and many nieces and nephews. Mother was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Katherina Dyck; all her siblings; husband Edward; two sons-in-law, Dennis Horgan and Albert Braun. Our mother was a reserved, gentle person who provided unfailing love and support to her children. She had various interests, hairdressing, sewing and knitting were her forte. Music gave her a sense of joy. For years, she sang in the Altona United Church Choir and in the Southern Manitoba Community Choir. She looked forward to spring to plant her cherished flower garden. Each Sunday, prior to church services, a beautifully arranged bouquet of flowers was set before the altar. To her this was a personal act of worship. The Reverend Bob Stark, former minister of the Altona United Church, was for years a great influence on her life. He gave her support and did so with sensitivity, respect, warmth and humour. The family thanks Dr. Buddefeld and the staff for their unending, compassionate care. There will be a viewing on Friday, March 2 at Wiebe's Funeral Home from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Altona United Church.
