BLANCHE MARY MACLAREN (nee BRADLEY) On February 26, 2007, our beloved wife, mother, nanny and great-nanny passed away peacefully, after a long and often difficult battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Left to cherish her wonderful memory are her husband of 49 years, Ian; her four daughters, Linda (Glen) Derback of Colorado, Alice (Jim) Wilson of Winnipeg, Ginney-Lynne Rodway of Portage La Prairie, Heather (Ken) Friesen of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, Torri (John) Metz, Travis (Alison) Wilson, Ryan (Jeannene) Derback, Angela Wilson, Raymond Friesen and Adam Friesen; and five great-grandchildren - soon to be seven. Blanche was born in Winnipeg on March 26, 1930, the youngest daughter of Walter and Alice Bradley. Blanche was a beautiful lady both inside and out. Her smile and gorgeous blue eyes could light up even the darkest room. She taught her family to always look good no matter how bad they felt, she taught them never to say never and she taught them to always remember to be loving and compassionate to everyone around them. Blanche was a determined, kind, loving and good person. Her devotion and love for her family was unfailing. Her zest for life a gift to all who knew her. Blanche's most cherished times were those spent with family. Each and every one of her children and grandchildren had a special place in her heart.all of them distinctly different. Her dream come true was spending her retirement years with Ian at their beautiful little home in Matlock. There Blanche enjoyed keeping her yard picture perfect, helping Ian with his baking and spending her evenings playing bingo. Blanche worked hard all her life. Can't was not a word in her vocabulary - a legacy she leaves for future generations. Mizpah Blanche - The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2 at 9:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3C 4G2, or to Middlechurch Nursing Home, 280 Balderstone Ave., West St. Paul, R4A 4A6.
