Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCONSTANCE KURTZ (ZIELKE) Connie passed away after a lengthy illness surrounded by her caring family and friends on February 26, 2007. She was born November 9, 1927 in Dauphin, MB, the first of two children to Pearl and Fred Zielke. Her childhood was spent between farm and city life with many summers in Grand Beach. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg where she worked at several jobs including Woolworths on Portage. Soon after, she was introduced to her soul mate, George. They were married on November 10, 1950. Their first child Rhonda was born in 1951 followed by a son, Kevin in 1956. After a short time running the Food Bar restaurant in Beausejour, Connie and George returned to Winnipeg in 1957. They bought a home on Polson Bay where they raised their children, and lived and loved for many years after. Although George passed away in 1998, he remained the love of her life. Connie was always physically active and lived to be with and help her family. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Rhonda (Greg Ward); son Kevin (Christine Cote) and grandson Ashley of Burnaby, BC; sister Evelyne Ellis; and nephews, Bruce and Craig and their children; as well as many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, and extend a heartfelt appreciation for the comfort and care provided by the staff of the Grace Hospice during her last days. People who knew and loved Connie are encouraged to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Salvation Army. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
