HARRY SINDER After a lengthy illness, Harry Sinder passed away peacefully on February 13, 2007, at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 92. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Joan; daughters, Barbara Meyers (George), Frances Sinder; brother Dr. Jack Sinder of California; stepdaughters, Kathy Engel (Rick) of Sherwood Park, AB, and Debra Blacklock (Don) of Delta, BC. He had seven grandchildren, Tamara, Dayana, Andrea, Michelle, Heidi, Steven and Andrew; also six great-grandchildren. Harry came to Canada in 1914 as an infant from Poltava, Ukraine, and resided almost entirely in Winnipeg. He grew up in the North End and graduated from St. Johns High School. Harry had a varied career - he had a fur manufacturing business; as well, he was manager of various hotels. He spent many years as the manager of Big Four Sales and served on many organizations such as Winnipeg Blue Bomber Executive, Maple Leaf Curling Club, B'Nai Brith, N. West Commercial Travellers Association, and enjoyed being involved in sports. The funeral has taken place on February 15 at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Burial at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Grant Goldberg, Stephen Brodovsky, Billie Brodovsky, Tamir and Karen Efron, Steven Blacklock. In his later years Harry and Joan enjoyed taking winter holidays down south and also visiting family. The family thanks everyone who cared for Harry at the Victoria General Hospital; also thanks to a special niece Gayle Davidson for all her caring visits to Uncle Harry. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.

Daddy we never saw each other often when I was a child but made up for it when I was a teen mostly by my efforts, and you did encourage me during my nurse's training so I forgive you somewhat for your own lack..I hope you didn't suffer too much and are resting peacefully.
