DEBRA ANNE GRANT (nee SALAVICH) With her family at her side, Debbie went to be with the angels on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at the age of 48, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Douglas; her two children, Amy and Donald; sisters, Susan Paterson and Linda Hall; and father Frank Salavich; nieces, Jenny, Jillian, Kelley, Melanie and Shelley; nephew Jared; and countless wonderful friends. Debbie was sadly predeceased by her mother Rita. Debbie was born and raised in Winnipeg before moving to Calgary where she met and fell in love with Doug. They married in the Kootenays, then lived in Calgary for a few years before moving back to the beautiful Okanagan Valley to raise their family. Debbie worked at the Kelowna General Hospital for many years as a lab technician. She especially loved dinner parties with friends, vacationing to sunny places, decorating for the holidays, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends, and her beloved cocker spaniel with all of their puppies. She was a beautiful, kind, generous woman who always put her family first. The memory of her love and her strength will remain in our hearts forever. A memorial service was held on February 20 in Kelowna, BC. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
