EMELIA SMITH Em Smith passed away peacefully on March 1, 2007, at the Kelowna General Hospital. She was born February 24, 1914, in Winnipeg, MB. She graduated from St. John's College with a Bachelor of Arts after which she taught at the Russell Business Institute in Winnipeg until she was married. She and her husband Lynn lived and worked in various parts of Canada until retiring to Kelowna in 1973. During her life here, Em was a co-founder and active volunteer with the Senior's Summer School. She remained an active and expert bridge player until the end of her life. She is survived by two sisters, Kay Sarsfield of Victoria and Margaret Newell of Winnipeg; as well as by nine nieces and nephews. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Victoria.
