FREDRICK JOSEPH PARTRIDGE Peacefully at Goodwin Lodge in Teulon, Fredrick Joseph Partridge passed away at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his father Fredrick Bazil in 1962; mother Annie Irene in 1992; sister Gail Marion in 1996. His sparkling blue eyes, warm smile and witty sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. Fred is remembered and cherished by his friend Don Kunzelman; his brother Robert (wife Judy); his sister Irene (husband Brian Bacon); nieces and nephew, Gordon, Colleen, Christine, Laurie and Shannon and their spouses and families. Fred was also a member of the family of Russell and Rhoda Kunzelman who they accepted as their own. Fred will also be missed by his many cousins, friends and neighbours. Fred was born January 16, 1933, in Winnipeg. This is where he grew up, and after completing school worked for CN where he became a journeyman painter. In 1966 Fred purchased a hotel in Redditt, Ontario, and developed it into a flourishing fly-in hunting and fishing camp called the Hideaway. In 1971 he sold Redditt and together with his brother Bob purchased Penguin Camp at Falcon Lake where Bob and Judy still live. In 1977 Fred began painting and contracting at Falcon Lake and moved to Inwood in 1981 and continued doing the same thing here in Inwood. During this time Fred also owned and operated Inwood Septic Service. Music was an interest that influenced Fred's entire life - he was playing in bands for weddings at the age of 14. In his early years Fred spent many weekends at his family cottage at Nutimik Lake during which time he built seven boats. He was a member of the North Kildonan volunteer fire department, and a former member of the Empire Masonic Lodge No. 127 for most of his life. During all of this time, music was always present, whether it be a house party or entertaining at his lounge in Redditt. Fred loved renovating, and making something out of nothing was especially enjoyable. Pets were also a source of enjoyment - wherever Fred sat, our dog Sasha and cat Frisky were always sitting beside him. Fred was a respected and loyal friend to Don Kunzelman for many years, and a bond was had that few get to experience. A very special thanks to all the people that did homecare for Fred, and Dr. Kerr Graham at the Hunter Memorial Hospital; also a very special thanks to the staff at Goodwin Lodge for the quality of life Fred had there and for the fun they shared with him. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Inwood Memorial Hall. Pastor Claire Speary will officiate. Interment will take place in Inwood Cemetery. If friends and family so desire, memorial donations may be made to Goodwin Lodge, Teulon. MacKenzie Funeral Home Teulon in care of arrangements.
