Change of Date of Service DONAT LAVALLEE August 3, 1920 - February 13, 2007 Donat passed peacefully into God’s hands surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his first wife Camilla (nee Jeanson) in 1981 and his sister Lorenza in 2005. Donat leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Irene (Paul Lelievre), Denise (Marcel Prairie), Diane (Maurice Trudeau); his grandchildren, Danielle (Mike Aessie), Marc Prairie, Darrell (Michelle) Trudeau, Kelly (Ja’Net) Trudeau, Roger Prairie, and his precious great-grandchildren, Madison Prairie, and Asia and Pierce Aessie; his sisters, Maria Landry, Anna Dupuis, brother Roméo (Odile) Désorcy, his second wife Rose Loriault and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom he held a special place in his heart. Born in Lorette, Manitoba, Dad married our mother in 1940. Dad spent the earlier part of his life farming alongside his father. Dad also worked at Pioneer Electric, helped in the construction of Lorette Collegiate where he was later employed as custodian and school bus driver until his retirement in 1978. He served as a taxi driver for the Sisters of St. Joseph in Lorette, president of Club des Blé d’Or, volunteer fireman, LUD councilor, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Dad’s hobbies included travelling, playing cards, bingo, not to mention a little bit of gambling. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Youville with special recognition to Jeannette Hince, Gilberte Marchadour, Soeur Rioux and Soeur Forest for their dedication, care and warmth towards the family. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Roman Catholic Church with Father Armand Le Gal O.M.I. officiating. A private interment of the cremated remains will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
