Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) BOYCE (nee RUTA) Peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2007, Mom made her final journey home. Today she is with the Lord. Kay was predeceased by her husband of 59 years William (Bill); her parents, Mary and George Ruta; brothers, Mike, Tony and Fred. She is survived by son Lawrence (Cynthia); grandchildren, Robbie, Brian and Chris of Winnipeg; daughters, Arlene (Gord) Rondeau and grandchildren, William, Patrick and Kathleen of Calgary AB, Judy (Ray) Chura and grandchild Daniel (Debbie) and great-grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley of Victoria BC; grandchild Debbie (Tod) Ferguson and great-grandchild Jamie of Christina Lake BC; sisters, Ann Tymchuk and family of Winnipeg and Estelle (Wes) Erickson and family of Vancouver BC. Mom will be sadly missed by Lawrence's dog Casey, whom she adored. In her earlier years Mom was an active church member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where she was treasurer of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. After Dad's heart attack, she devoted herself as a caregiver, enabling him to remain in their home for his final years. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Maples Care Home and a special thanks to Rey and Marifi for their compassion and understanding. Special thanks to Father Michael Winn for his devotion and assistance. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. also at the Chapel. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Mom, you are with the Lord and our Dad.
