LARENA IRIS BEATON (nee WITTICK) Peacefully, at the West End Villa with family present, Iris passed away on March 1, 2007 at the age of 94 years. Iris is survived by her husband William of 62 years; sister Ethel Williams; sons, Lorne (Carolyn) and Douglas (Louise), and granddaughter Sara Wilbond (Matt). Predeceased by sister Fern and brothers, Eric, Norman, Gordon and Stuart. She leaves numerous loving nieces and nephews. Iris was born in Winnipeg and was raised on the family farm in Niverville, Manitoba. She contributed to the duties of the farm life during her youth, later on working for Eaton's in Winnipeg until she married in 1945. Iris will be remembered as a quiet person who enjoyed her hobbies; gardening, reading and needlework. She enjoyed her numerous friends. She accepted each day without expectations or regret. Funeral Service will be held at the Merivale United Church, 1876 Merivale Road, on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Merivale United Church Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of the West End Villa for the care and kindness shown to Iris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
