RON GEORGE KRISHKA It's with broken hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Ron on February 25, 2007, aged 55 while vacationing in Cabarete, Ron's favourite beach in the Dominican Republic. Ron leaves precious memories with his beloved wife and best friend Aline (Gagnon); daughter Natalie Simms and son-in-law Scott Dixon, grandson Trey Dixon; son Jeff (Lisa) Krishka and daughter Erin (Adam) Warsaba. Ron was predeceased by his father George Krishka and brother-in-law René Gagnon. Left to cherish many more precious memories are his family, mother Doris Krishka; sisters, Luba (Romeo) Bautista, Judy (Shawn) Krishka; brothers, Don (Charlene) Krishka, Rick (Shelagh) Krishka, John (Rhonda) Krishka; his wife's family, father and mother-in-law Jean-Marie and Germaine Gagnon; sisters-in-law, Madeleine (Armand) Mercier, Diane (Luc) Lemoine, Colette (Robert) Gagnon, Murielle (Michael) Gagnon and brothers-in-law, Fernand Gagnon, Gilbert (Julie) Gagnon, Richard (Angèle) Gagnon; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Ron was born in Vita, MB on December 11, 1951. He was larger than life itself. His laughter was contagious, and he touched the hearts of everyone he met. He lived his life with passion, dedication and love. Ron and Aline built their dream home in a forested area outside of Ste. Anne, MB. Together, they spent countless hours planning the landscaping, which turned into their oasis made up of rocks, trees, and flowers. Ron's pride and joy were the fire pit, pond and waterfall they built by hand. Ron always looked forward to sharing their oasis with family and friends. Ron's most recent years were spent enjoying quality time with his grandson Trey, whom he adored tremendously. Trey will always remember his Grandpa Fireplace as being the only person who could make him laugh by making the elephant sound . Ron will be remembered for being a man only a phone call away when someone was in need. A real Mr. Fix It, he was always ready to tackle any project big or small, and nothing made him happier than going to Home Depot to find the right gadget to do the job. God must have needed something fixed, which is why he called upon our Ron. Ron also loved the great outdoors; fly-in fishing with his brothers and buddies, golfing in the annual George Krishka Open , and especially spending quality dock time every Labour Day weekend with friends Harvey and Lucille Miller in Shoal Lake, ON. Ron, being the handy man he was, took an early interest in diesel mechanics. He became certified in the Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic trade, and founded his own diesel repair shop, Grandin Diesel. Several years later he obtained his most gratifying position, working for the Department of Education at the Apprenticeship Branch as the Prior Learning Assessment Coordinator, helping immigrants obtain trade certification in Canada. To celebrate and remember the many lives Ron Krishka touched, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsythe Road in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Manitoba. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
