Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE MYK (nee MICHALCHUK) March 5, 1920 - February 25, 2007 In her 86th year, Joyce Myk peacefully passed away at the Westmount Nursing Home in Kitchener, ON. She is survived by her children, Sylvia and Dan (Lorraine); her grandchildren, Susan (Chuck), Cindy (Darren), Jeff and Sarah; her great-grandchildren, Mathew, Lucas and Alicia. Mom had a special place in her heart for her niece Eileen and loved her like a daughter. She also leaves behind numerous extended family. Mom was born in Elphinstone, but the majority of her life was spent in Winnipeg. She was employed at Fred Douglas Lodge as a cook. While there, she was involved with the United Way and took pleasure in her volunteer work for them. She enjoyed working with her fellow employees, as well as helping the residents. We have lost one of the most beautiful, kindest, sophisticated, unselfish mothers that life has known. She was one of a kind and always gave 100% of herself. She knew what to say and provided so much love and guidance to all of us, which shaped us into the people we are today. Mom, you carried us when we were small. We will now carry you in our hearts and never forget you. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. A memorial service will be held at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 10. Father Michael Winn officiating. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT
