THOMAS PAUL SLEVA It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather Thomas Paul Sleva on March 7, 2007, at the Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 84. Tom leaves to mourn his children, Pam (Ron), Robert (Sandy); grandchildren, Gregory, Stephanie, Melissa and Matheau. He also leaves to mourn his brothers, Ben, Walter and John; sister Clara; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline; parents, Anastasia and John; sisters, Carrie and Betty; brothers, Frank, Steve and Joe. Tom was born on December 16, 1922, in Stead, MB. He left home at a young age for Toronto where he met and married his wife Pauline and worked in construction. They moved back to Winnipeg in 1973 where he built Pauline's dream house. He also built a cottage at Gull Lake where he loved to have family and friends around. Tom could always be found working on cars, fixing lawnmowers or creating new inventions. He loved to play guitar with his brother Ben and friends. His hands were never idle. Tom will be missed for his storytelling, quick wit and for being the best grandfather to his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. The family would like to thank all who cared for Thomas during his illness. Special thanks to John, Walter, Ben and Clara for being there for Dad. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to take place in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Gull Lake, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. We will miss you very much, you can rest now, remember to watch over us until we meet again.
