JULIA LECOQ Following, is the obituary written by Julia herself. Julia Lecoq, beloved wife of the late George Lecoq, died at home on March 4, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband, George Lecoq June 8, 2000. Her parents, John and Emma Buydens, her sister Celina Nachtegaele and her husband Oscar, her sister Elodie and her husband Harry D'hont and her first husband Marcel Van Cauwenberghe; her sister Yvonne Vassart and her husband Charlie, her sister Marie DeGrouwe and husband Victor; four brothers, Jules Buydens and his wife Bertha, Theo Buydens and his first wife Renee and his second wife Ann, brother Henry Buydens and one brother in infancy, niece Marjory Claeys and a nephew Lawrence Buydens. She also leaves to cherish her memories many nieces and nephews. Julia was born in St. Alphonse, Manitoba and moved with her parents to Devan Lake where she attended her schooling. In 1943 she married George Lecoq and had 56 wonderful years together. She travelled with her husband from coast to coast when he was in the Air force. In her earlier years Julia worked for the Manitoba Telephone Company for 15 years at Swan Lake and worked for Monarch Wear of Winnipeg for 24 years retiring in 1970. She belonged to the Belgium Club and enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and the funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road with interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
