DALE ELEANOR LEKEI February 21, 1954 March 6, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dale Eleanor Lekei. Dale will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dwain and their children, Kristina and David and dog Luke, her brothers, Greg Barker (Lynda), Darryl (Linda), Randy (Tannis), Rod (Cindy), her mother and father-in-law, Bill and Shirley Lekei, sisters-in-law, Heather Pearce (Mark), Kim DeVloo (Gilbert), numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her father and mother Arthur and Eleanor Barker. Dale grew up in Elmwood and spoke fondly of playing with her brothers and friends. Dale worked at Eaton's and later as a secretary. Dale loved to ride the horses she owned. She enjoyed the 10 years working as a Girl Guide Leader. She loved to be at home with her kids and babysitting for 12 years, and helping at the school lunch program for 8 years. Dale loved to read stories and books every night at bedtime to Kristina and David. Dale loved to listen to and tell stories at family gatherings and like her mother, was quick to set the facts straight if need be. Dale travelled to Hawaii, England, the Okanagan Valley, the Maritimes and was especially proud of going to Churchill with her mother. She was really looking forward to travelling west on the train to Vancouver this spring. Dale was a sincere, considerate, loving mother who was extremely brave and unselfish. The family would like to thank Dr. Maxwell, Ann, Bonnie, Astrid, Penny, Jackie, Eleanor, Jan and the volunteer ladies at the Victoria Hospital and Dr. Jamie Gillespie. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberley Avenue on Monday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30. Pallbearers are Michael Barker, Corey Barker, Andrew Barker, Stephen Pearce, Clayton Pearce and Geoffrey Pearce. Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Mulvihill, Kerry McDonald and Jason DeVloo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Please don't be too sad today. I had a wonderful life and have no regrets, except I would have liked to travel more and take my kids to Hawaii and England, but maybe they'll get there on their own. Glen Eden Memorial Gardens in care of arrangements. LOVE YOU FOREVER CHEZ
