Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESTER MURRAY GLANTZ Lester passed away peacefully on February 18, 2007 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Esther Glantz (Bromberg); his daughter Diane Marr (Gianni); son David Glantz (Kayo); and granddaughters, Candice and Jennifer Marr. He was predeceased by his parents, Pauline and Max Glantz and his daughter Melinda Glantz. He is fondly remembered by Esther's family, Pam, Kim, Linda and Irvin (Anita) Bromberg and family, Shirley and Sam Borden, Syd Kliffer and family, and many nieces and nephews. Lester was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 12, 1928, the only son of Pauline and Max Glantz. He earned the B.Sc.(E,E.) and M.Sc. Degrees from the City College of New York and engaged in doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Thereafter, he was a Lecturer at C.C.N.Y., worked at the Bulova Watch Co. in New York and at Autometric, contributing to the lunar space program. In 1970 with his family, he moved to Massachusetts where he worked as an engineering consultant. In 1973 with his first wife Audrey (Jakab, Vail) and their children, he moved to Winnipeg to work as a biomedical engineer for Medical Products Institute and as a consultant for Johnson and Johnson. He was a past chairman of the I.E.E.E., The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., Winnipeg section. Lester was keenly interested in photography, and enjoyed chamber music and theatre. He was an avid walker. He joined Temple Shalom in Winnipeg in the mid-1970s. The families are most grateful to the staff of Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home and to Dr. M. Burke for their care in his last years. Cremation was followed on February 21, 2007 by a memorial service at Temple Shalom. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
