EDGAR (ED) JACOB RUDY 1938 - 2007 It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Ed, after a brief but brave battle with cancer at the age of 68 years. Ed is survived by his wife Arlene; sisters, Vera Wilson (Fred), Hilda Gowler; mother-in-law Kitty Riach; sister-in-law Myrna Gowler (Casey); brother-in-law Larry Riach and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Terry 1985, father Jacob 1982, mother Jenny 2002, father-in-law Jack Riach 1981, and brother-in-law Albert Gowler 1996. Ed was living in Poplar Point when he met his future wife Arlene and would have been celebrating their 49th Wedding Anniversary in March 2007. He started working at Campbell Soup in Portage La Prairie in 1960 and moved to Winnipeg in 1967 where he worked as a meat cutter until his retirement in 1989. In his early years Ed loved hunting and fishing, especially with his father Jake and son Terry. They always had stories to tell about their trips. He also enjoyed sports on T.V., curling being his favourite. A Celebration of Ed's life will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital, as well as the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service for their care and compassion during Ed's final days.
