Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN WARKENTIN On March 12, 2007 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, John Warkentin passed away peacefully at the Charleswood Care Centre with his family by his side. John was predeceased by his parents, Abram and Helena Warkentin. He is survived by his wife Agnes (Klassen), four children and eleven grandchildren: Garry (Elaine Turner), Tara, Trevor, Tyler, Travis and Nate; Cindy (Vern Reimer) Brett, Scott, Sandi and Carlie; Dan; Joyce (Don Cassie) Cody and Luke; and ten siblings. John was born January 12, 2007 in Gnadentahl, Russia. With his parents and eldest sister he came to Canada to settle as farmers in Glenlea, Manitoba. He married Agnes in July of 1956. They moved onto their own farm in Glenlea shortly thereafter. Here he raised his family and enjoyed the farming life. John enjoyed travelling, golfing and spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. The family would like to thank all who helped care for John during his illness, especially the staff at Charleswood Care Centre during the last days of his life. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenlea Mennonite Church with interment in Glenlea Cemetery. Viewing on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a devotional at 7:15, at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, and also at the church prior to the service.
