SYLVIA GOOD (nee WYDEMAN) On Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Riverview Health Centre, Sylvia Good peacefully passed away at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband Vernon, parents, Roy and Helena Wydeman, brother Stuart Wydeman, sisters, Phyllis Layfield and Betty-Anne Ballantyne. Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her son Alan, daughter-in-law Joanna; daughter Lorraine O'Leary; grandchildren, Jennifer (Randy) McCoy, Alison (Brett) Smith, Erin (David) Bowie, Melanie and Stephen O'Leary; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Cale and Dylan; sister-in-law Mary Deugo in Calgary; and Aunt Ruth Tickle in Nanaimo. Sylvia will also be dearly missed by her lifelong friends Lorna, Ernestine, Marge and Audrey. Sylvia and Vern were married for 58 years until Vern's passing in 2002. Sylvia worked for many years in the Winnipeg School Division as a secretary both at Earl Grey School and Rockwood Resource Centre, from which she retired in 1983. Sylvia and Vern loved their car travels across Canada and enjoyed their years living in Wildwood Park. After Vern's death, Sylvia moved to The Waverley, where she made many new friends. Sylvia attended Kelvin High School and United College, and had many fond memories of her time at Victoria Beach. She was always very active and cross country skied, took long walks, and volunteered for the Liberal Party and Victoria Hospital as long as she was able. Sylvia loved music and was a regular subscriber to the Winnipeg Symphony. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Deer Lodge and Riverview Health Centre for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Sylvia over the past year. At Sylvia's request a private family ceremony will be held. Donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, Deer Lodge Health Centre or to the Heart and Stroke Foundations.
