SAM SCARDINA July 18, 1924 - March 7, 2007 It is with sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Sam on March 7, 2007. Sam was predeceased by his wife Isabelle; parents Joseph and Rosaline; siblings, Nunzio (Henry) and Seena. He will be remembered and missed by his son Robert (Pat); brothers, Fred (Betty), Frank (Huguette), Joe and Harry; as well as his many extended family and friends. Sam was born and raised in Winnipeg. While serving in the Air Force during the Second World War he met his wife Isabelle. Sam worked for CN Rail as a carman for 43 years and retired in 1984. His love for the rails was evident by the many hours spent working on his model railroad and being a member of a Model Railroad Club. He was also involved with Transcona Credit Union as a board member for many years. After his retirement, Sam looked forward to sitting and chatting with friends and customers at the Dairy Bee in Winnipeg Beach, which he owned and operated from 1962 to 2002. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with a viewing one half hour prior and an interment and reception to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at River East Personal Care home for their attentive care shown to Dad and a heartfelt thank you to Melissa for her love and attention to Sam. She was always able to bring a smile to his face and was very special to him. In remembrance, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6, in Sam's name. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home And Reception Centre 885-9715
