Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADOLPHINA (JOSEPHINE) MAZUR Adolphina Josephine Mazur, unexpectedly passed away, after a very short illness at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, March 8, 2007. Josephine leaves to cherish her memory, John, her beloved husband of almost 63 years; her son John (Carola Lis); her daughter Joanne Crowell (Ron); sister Min McClellan (Stanley); brother Walter (Olly); her precious grandchildren, Robyn Overwater (Doug), Gavin Crowell, Jesse and Henry Mazur; great-grandchildren, Travis, Kennedy and Austin Overwater, Hayley and Logan Crowell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Vladimir and Anna Sulipa; sisters, Madeline Mary and Ollie Dolan. Josephine was born on May 6, 1922. She married John on June 24, 1944, Dad's birthday. Josephine was a bright, lively and a lovely young woman who loved to sing. For years she sang in the Holy Family Church choir. It is also thought that she invented retail therapy as she indulged in that Winnipeg passion of hunting for bargains. But above all, she loved her family, dedicating herself to creating a home that was warm and welcoming and full of the rich aromas of her legendary cooking. Josephine also loved to help her John in the garden. Traveling was a long held passion. Right up to her final days, precious memories were shared of visits to various provinces and the States, or to Cuba, Mexico and of her many visits to family in Australia. Unfortunately, recent years saw illness drain her energy and made her housebound. Still, she cherished her time with her devoted husband John and her immediate family. It was a blessing for us all that right up until the end, she remained alert and totally conscious of where things were and what had to be done. In her own way, Josephine, the quiet achiever, continues to inspire us as we work our way through these days of loss. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed, never to be forgotten. Heartfelt thanks go to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and the caring staff of St. Boniface Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Arthritis Society. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
