Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAJOS (LOUIS) WITTINGER It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Louis, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 12, 2007, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 88 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth, sons, Tibor (Lynn) Maller and Louis (Laurie) Wittinger Jr., seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephew William (Linda) Novak and family, one nephew and five nieces in France and many friends. Louis was born in Sarvar, Hungary on May 4, 1918, and came to Canada in 1948 and settled in Winnipeg. He met and married Elizabeth in 1955 and together raised their boys in Winnipeg. Louis retired from Victoria Leather in 1985. Louis was very proud of his Hungarian heritage and was a long standing member of the St. Stephen's Sick Benefit Society and was also a lifetime member of the Hungarian Canadian Cultural Society of Manitoba. After retirement they moved from Winnipeg to Lester Beach, enjoying the country life for 17 years, then returning back to Winnipeg. He was a very outgoing and generous man, who loved his family. He enjoyed entertaining his family and his many friends with his singing and wonderful sense of humour. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on Ward E5 and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. According to Louis's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Pastor Jeff Potts presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis' memory to CancerCare Manitoba. TALALKOZUNK MIKOR AZ UR JEZUS UJRA ELJON CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
