BERT ALBERTUS MARIA EYSSENS
Date of Passing: Mar 11, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERT ALBERTUS MARIA EYSSENS Husband, Father and Grandpa It is with great sadness that we announce My Husband, Our Dad and Grandpa passed away suddenly in the early morning of Sunday, March 11, 2007 at home in the arms of his loving wife Darryl. A shock to us all, but just as Dad taught us to do, we pull together, as a family, to support one another. His life and memory will continue to be celebrated by his large and loving family his best friend and wife of 43 years, Darryl, daughter Theresa and Geertjan with a little one on the way from Sydney, Australia, son Garney and Maureen, Jade and Jordan, daughter Tracy and Chris, Hayden, Mason and Jackson, son Jason and Rebecca, Anthony, Tavis, Ginger, daughter Tannis and Rick, son Chad and Jessica, Andrew and Alex. He will also be missed by his mother Truce and brothers, Richard and Henry and sister Mary. He will be reunited with his father Tony and much loved and missed oldest son Al. Big Bert as he was known to many of his friends in Winnipeg and especially around St. Vital lived larger than life. He spent many years in business with his brothers and father at Amalgamated Drywall and will be remembered by his many work colleagues and friends and recently continued to work closely with his sons establishing their own business, E-Line Drywall. He was always giving back to the community and was very active in fundraising and volunteering, spending many years at the local community club Greendell C.C. and St. Vital Victorias as well as very active member of the local St. Emile Parish Parent's Committee. Everyone who knew our dad, knew his greatest passion was his family and his favorite place was out at the lake in Lac Du Bonnet, fishing with his grandkids, especially in his new boat. His greatest dream was building the E-Line business with his sons and more than anything being surrounded by his kids and grandkids and without a doubt his E-Bay. A day never went by that our Dad did not enjoy many things whether they were with his family or out with his best friends Dave and Haldean Gittens. He lived a full life, as son Chad often said, and his legacy will continue thru his children and grandchildren who will grow and learn just how great a man he was - a great husband, father and grandfather. Son Jason said it best: Remembering you is easy, We will do it everyday, Missing you is a heartache, That will never go away. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to support CancerCare Manitoba and the Children's Wish Foundation in his memory. Join with us as we celebrate Dad's life and share in his many memories. Pallbearers will be Garney, Jason and Chad Eyssens, Dave, Scott and Todd Gittins, Scott Eyssens, Geertjan Wechgelaer, Chris Dunsford, Rick Wieringa. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Eyssens and Henry Eyssens, Gil and Aaron Nelson and John Potter. Prayers will take place at Thomson Funeral Home, 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 with the Church Service to follow Saturday, March 17, 2007 at St. Gerard's Church 9:30 a.m. followed by cemetery interment at St Vital Cemetery RC. A cluster of beautiful memories, Sprayed with a million tears, Wishing God had spared you But for a few more years. Thanks for the years you gave us And for the happy times we shared. We only pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one Our chain will link again. We love you Dad and will miss you every day! Bert, as long as I live, you will live, our souls remain intertwined forever All my Love Darryl THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway~783-7211 www.thomsonfuneralhome.com
