Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER KRISKO It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Walter Krisko, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on March 13, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Walter is survived by his loving wife Jean; daughter Kathy (Rick) Grunsten; sons, Len (Lauri) and Greg (Colleen). He was also proud of his eight grandchildren, Hayley, Brenna, Kelly, Kelcy, Justin, Cameron, Cole and Carson. He was predeceased by his brother Julius and his sister Mary Stewart. Walter was born June 24, 1923 to Tina and Alexander. Walter lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He grew up in north Winnipeg and one of his passions growing up was playing fastball. During the Second World War, Walter served in the Army. Upon returning to Winnipeg from his service he met his beloved wife Jean (Wawrykow). They were married August 12, 1953 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church where they were lifetime parishioners. After serving in the Army, Walter had various occupations ending his working life with about 20 years service as a bartender/manager at Army and Navy Unit 283. After retirement Walter enjoyed outside activities around the house and attending various events his grandchildren participated in. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Walter's memory to the Church or to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
