JOHN BRIERLEY February 6, 1936 March 11, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Brierley on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Grace Hospice at the age of 71 years, now re-united with his loving wife Mary Elizabeth ( Molly ). Remaining to forever cherish John's memory are his daughters, Karen and Joanna; grandson Kevin; great-grandson Lewis; brother-in-law Brian and family; extended family, Margaret, Don, Kim, Marisa and Nick; nephews and nieces, Adrian, Gillian, David, Michael, Patricia and their families; cousins, Barry and Peter; and aunts, Ivy and Mildred. He was predeceased by his Mum and Dad, Irene and Jack, as well as his sisters, Mabel and Mildred. Born in Rochdale, England, John emigrated to Winnipeg in 1968. During his 27 year career with Inland Cement, John forged many lasting friendships. As a long-standing member of both the Royal British and Royal Canadian Legions, he will be missed by the many friends and dancing partners he made there. John loved life, laughter, music and dancing and will be remembered whenever glasses are raised and a jive is played. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #141, 618 Selkirk Avenue. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers of the Grace Hospital Hospice for their angelic care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Grace Hospital Hospice, 260 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3R5.
