HARVEY LOCKSHIN Harvey Lockshin passed away suddenly on March 4, 2007, at the age of 70 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Alice Lockshin, sister-in-law Gloria Goldenstein, and father-in-law Louis Corman. He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 48 years Beverley, son Arnie and wife Natalia, daughter Debra, grandchildren, Larissa and Julia Lockshin, mother-in-law Rikla Marmel, sister Ruth Joy Moser (Frank), nephew Phil Moser (Ruth), nieces, Fay Page (Warren), Deborah Roitman (Michael), brother-in-law Georges Goldenstein, nephew Leonard Goldenstein (Eva), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, his many friends in Winnipeg, Florida, Toronto and elsewhere. Pallbearers were Marvin Ben Ari, Leonard Goldenstein, Mark Kaye, Ira Kaye, Marshall Kneller, and Saul Targownick. Honorary pallbearers were Alex Gillman, Larry Kussin, Jack Klein, John Kushner, Sam Linhart, Neil Margolis, Frank Pulver and Larry Rice. Harvey was a man deeply devoted to family, a man of his word, and a man full of life. He spent his working years in Winnipeg establishing a successful business, and nurturing his family. He was an avid fan of horseracing, and was the proud owner of HLL racing stable. This passion continued in Florida where he and Bev spent winters after his retirement. He loved to spend days on the beach with his friends, chewing on his cigars, discussing the stock market, politics, sports, and telling many humorous tales of past and present. He loved to play shuffleboard, and get all of his buddies involved, but he was always the champ. Harvey was a truly unique individual who marched to his own beat. He immediately captivated everyone that he met. Referred to by many as The Captain, or The Rock, he was an imposing larger than life figure. Bev, his loving wife never ceased to be amazed by his enthusiasm, sense of humour, his knack for storytelling, and his sense of fun. They shared many years of deep love, deep friendship, and deep devotion to one another, and the memories he left behind are many, and treasured. He will forever be missed by all those who loved him, and who he loved in return. Harvey's memory can be honoured through donations to a charity of your choice.
