Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN JOSEPH MACKENZIE April 28, 1943 March 14, 2007 It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of Brian MacKenzie on March 14 in Grande Prairie, AB. With his loving wife Anne by his side, Brian passed away from complications of Crohn's disease after a long and courageous battle. Brian will be remembered for his kind and generous heart and his great sense of humour. He took great pride in his Scottish roots and in his family. We fondly remember all the Christmas cards signed Brian and the Harem . Brian grew up in Winnipeg and was educated at St. Charles Academy, St. Paul's and Silver Heights High School. His career with the Bank of Nova Scotia began in Winnipeg and continued in Regina, Toronto, Lethbridge, Athabasca and Grande Prairie. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Annie Mae Mackenzie and by his nephew Trevor Acheson. He will be deeply missed by his wife Anne, daughters, Betty (Larry), Shirley (Calvin), Susan, Kathy (Darcy), Barbara (Mark), Connie (Dan), Margaret, Pat (Jeffrey); nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Ron (Joy), Colin (Wendy) and his sister Mil (Wayne), nieces and nephews and his two faithful canine companions Molly and Cleo. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Grande Prairie and at Unit 54 and ICU of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Edmonton for their excellent and compassionate care. We would also like to express our thanks to Father Archie Mackenzie (Edmonton), and Pastor Vern Begalke, Pastor Don Bolstad and Father David Purcell (Grande Prairie) for their prayers, compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wembley Volunteer Fire Department, Box 325, Wembley, AB TOH 3SO or to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, 600-60 St.Clair Avenue East, Toronto, ON M4T 1N5 or at www.ccfc.ca A celebration of Brian's life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grande Prairie on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Vern Begalke officiating.
