Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE SIGNY TOMES Beatrice, beloved wife of the late Jack Tomes, passed away Friday, March 16, 2007 at Fred Douglas Lodge Personal Care Home at the age of 92 years. Born July 26, 1914, Beatrice was the youngest child of Asmundur and Margret Olson (originally Eyjolfsson). She grew up in the West End with sisters, Ruby, Valentine and Pearl, and brothers, Norman and Paul. She and her future husband, Jack, first met on Maryland Street when they were both 11 years old. She worked at Eaton's mail order department in the 1940s, and again when her children were older. Beatty was a loving wife and mother, and a wonderful grandmother. Her kind heart and gentle humour nourished the hearts of all around her. She is survived by her daughter Darlene and son-in-law Terry Furmaniuk; her grandson John Hansmeyer and his mother Donna of San Antonio, Texas; and her grandsons, Stephen (Andrea) and Gregory Furmaniuk of Winnipeg. She will also be dearly missed by her pet at the nursing home, Autumn the cat. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1989, her daughter Barbara in 1949 and her son Jack in 1968, as well as by all her siblings. The family is grateful to the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for their loving care over the past ten years. We would also like to thank the CNIB and the Special Services staff at the Millennium Library. A funeral service to celebrate Beatrice's life will be held on Monday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fred Douglas Lodge Chapel, 1275 Burrows Avenue, with Rev. Linda Churchill officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beatrice's memory to the Fred Douglas Society Foundation, 1275 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2X 0B8, or to the CNIB, 1080 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3. With you, a part of me hath passed away. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
