Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) JOSEPH RICHARDSON September 29, 1922 March 14, 2007 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Robert J. Richardson, at Riverview Health Centre on March 14, 2007, at the age of 84 years. Bob was predeceased by parents, Alfred and Marie Louise (Magnon) Richardson; brothers, George, Albert, Alfred and Phillip; sisters, Blanche Watt, Mary Smith, Anne Wynant, Simone Goulet, Alice Stanlake and Jean Stubbe. He is lovingly survived by his wife Lucy; sons, Paul, Roger, Robert and Lloyd, and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nathan and Janie. Numerous family members will also cherish his memory. Born and raised in St. Boniface, MB, Bob was the youngest from a family of 11 children. At the age of 21, Bob was called to the Army, and decided to enlist with the Royal Canadian Navy. He did training at the H.M.S. Chippawa in Winnipeg for six months. From there, he was transferred to Cornwallis, Ontario, to do more training, then to Bermuda to finish his training before he served overseas for two and one half years. At the end of April 1945, Bob was sent home for a month holiday, and he and his fiancée, Lucienne Miron, decided to get married. After completing an X-Ray Technician Course, Bob worked for the Winnipeg Sanitarium Board and ended at the Victoria Hospital. Bob decided to try something different, so he made the decision to get into sales. He worked for Fuller Brush, where he was a manager for three years. He later became a salesman for Lifetime Distributors selling stainless steel cookware; cooking dinners and selling at the same time. Bob applied for a job with Block Anderson Company selling photo copiers, where he worked as a manager for four years, and then got a job with National Typewriter selling Canon copiers for another six years. Not willing to retire completely, Bob was still working part-time for them. Bob was a dedicated husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Fred Olds officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
