NORA ALLAN Our family is deeply saddened with the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Nora, on March 13, 2007. Nora had just celebrated her 85th birthday in February. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Garry (Sally); daughter Janice McQuarrie (Bob); her five grandchildren, Allyson (Kris) Rhea (Ryan), Mark, Jeff (Jennifer), Garth and her great-granddaughter Reaghan; her brothers, Eric Guile and Dennis (Mavis) Guile and many, many friends. Nora was predeceased by her husband Hugh, of 60 years in May of 2004. Nora's sense of family and community shaped her life. Early in her married life, Nora fostered children, volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and a C.G.I.T. leader. Nana was the consummate grandmother. She loved being involved in her children and grandchildren's lives and she lived for the various school concerts and recitals. Nora and Hugh loved to travel and spent many holidays overseas travelling with old friends and making new friends with whom they stayed in contact long after returning home. In the latter years, they enjoyed their time in Mesa, AZ where a whole new group of friends were added to their Christmas card list. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Susan Hauch and the excellent staff of 6A Family Medicine, St. Boniface Hospital. Their compassion and professionalism over the past three months is greatly appreciated. The family would also like to express its thanks to Mom's many friends who supported her with cards, phone calls and visits. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 4:00 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In accordance with Nora's wishes her body has been donated to the University of Manitoba for medical research. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the The Children's Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2, or to a charity of their choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
