Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE WILLIAM GRETCHYN Peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, George William Gretchyn passed away at the age of 96 years. George was born in Ukraine, on June 5, 1910. In 1948 with his wife, son, and mother-in-law, he immigrated to Canada settling in Yorkton, SK. In 1950, together with his family, they moved to Winnipeg where he resided until his demise. He was employed with CN Railway until his retirement. George was a member of St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church and The Brotherhood, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Ukrainian Mutual Benefit Association of St. Nicholas, and Ukrainian Canadian Institute Prosvita; all places where he served with much dedication and integrity. His hobbies were coin and stamp collecting, and later he took up oil painting. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, son Yarema Lee Gretchyn and wife Margaret; grandson Dean; granddaughter Debbie; four great-granddaughters; nephew Marko Hnatiuk and family. George was predeceased by his wife Stephanie in 1979. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 19 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20 at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. with Very Reverend L. Ratushniak C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Rest in Peace Vichnaya Pamyat KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
