FREDERICK EGGETT On March 12, 2007, while wintering in Osoyoos, BC, Fred peacefully passed away at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband for 55 years to Mary, adored father of Michael (Liz), Brenda, Marlaine (Glenn), Tangi (Tim), Lolo (Kerry), wonderful gramps to Seonaid (Kevin), Matthew, Ian, Ethan, Alixaendra, Dillon, Shayne, Payton, dear brother of Harry (Stephanie), and fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Annie, brothers, John and Henry and sisters, Kay and Mary. Dad was a good man, with a heart of gold, and a brilliant mind. Throughout the years, Dad had built numerous successful businesses, all the while focusing on his active and loving family, he watched with pride, the development and successes of each of his children. After Dad had raised his children and endured the trials and tribulation of doing so, he turned his charm and attention on the next generation, his beloved grandchildren. It was as he put it payback time. Whether he was discussing politics, feeding ice cream for breakfast, instilling his integrity and strong work ethic, perfecting snow angels, hosting a chocolate bar party before dinner, building sand castles in the house, encouraging truancy, pushing the swing just one more time, coloring far outside the lines or singing Thomas the Tank Engine's roll call way past bedtime, grandpa savoured and cherished these special moments. He was adored by his family and we will miss him terribly. . . cherishing every memory we have of him. In compliance with Dad's wishes a private family funeral service was held at Glen Eden Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Springfield Firefighters Association, Box 219, Oakbank, MB R0E 1J1, specifically towards purchasing a defibrillator to improve care in the Springfield community. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
