ELIZABETH SMITH Elizabeth Smith passed away peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital on March 16, 2007 at the age of 96. One of five children born to Rachel and Herbert Byrne of Liverpool, England, she leaves to mourn four daughters, Mary (Vin) and Gaye (Harry) of Liverpool, England and Jackie (Richard (deceased)) and Lily (Arthur) of Winnipeg, MB; and one son Bill (Jean) of Liverpool, England. Those left to celebrate the legacy of her life include 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by one sister Winnie of Liverpool, England. Elizabeth was predeceased by her first husband John Ashley in 1957, and her second husband John (Jack) Smith in 1995. Elizabeth emigrated to Canada in 1984, after a long distinguished career as a Book-Binder in England and shared her love and passion with everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd Floor Unit 9, especially Adora and Cathy whose love and caring was shared right until the end of her life. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Inkster with Father Kevin Smith officiating.
