Raymond was born on April 5, 1916 on a farm in Mariapolis, MB. Besides being a farmer at Mariapolis/Greenway, he worked in Northern Manitoba as a lumberjack, for Canadian National Railway for 24 years and at the Greenwood Cemetery. Raymond moved to Pilot Mound from Mariapolis with his family in 1970. He was a resident at Prairie View Lodge suites for the last 6 years of his life. He looked forward to weekly visits from his family and taking them out for lunch. In the last 6 years of his life he took great pride and enjoyment in riding around town in his red scooter (skidoo). He will be remembered and sadly missed. Rest in peace Dad. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend. But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around you, And whispered Come with me. So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain. We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. If friends and family so desire, they may donate to Pilot Mound Prairie View Lodge or to the Canadian Diabetes Society in his memory. Funeral service will be held from Pilot Mound United church on Thursday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. Father John Nguyen officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Graham's Funeral Service of Pilot Mound in care of arrangements.
