IRENE (CHICK) GUNDERSON (nee GIRLING) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irene at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, surrounded by her family on March 18, 2007, one day before her 64th birthday. She leaves to mourn her untimely passing her husband of 46 years, Don; her daughters, Brenda (Joe), Bonnie (Brett) and her son Greg (Susie); and her beloved grandchildren Michael (Amanda), Tanya, Hunter and Zachary. Chick is also survived by her brothers, Ken (Audrey), Ron (Debbie), Ralph (Colleen), Marty (Rhonda) and Tony; sisters, Betty (Doug) and Marilyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Ernie and Lena, brother-in-law Gordie, also in-laws Clarence, Laura, Iris, Esther and Carter. Irene was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #42 and the Over 60 Club. She enjoyed camping with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially her fun trips to the casino. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with the Ven. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the St. Clements Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
