CAROL LYNN GREENHILL (nee GAMBLE) August 5, 1947 - March 17, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Nick of 37 years; two children, Ryan (Karen) of Lasalle, Manitoba, and Tasha (Taso) of Morris, Manitoba; grandchildren, Kailey, Kosta, Nico and her latest Carol Lynn. Carol attended school at Scott Collegiate in Regina and was married to Nick on May 31, 1969, at the RCMP chapel in Regina, SK. Carol and Nick resided in various towns in Manitoba. While living in Brandon, Carol attended Brandon University where she received her BA degree with honors in Psychology. She also received a Gold Award for academic achievement from Brandon University and the Manitoba Lieutenant Gold Award for excellence. Carol was employed for several years at Child and Family Services in Brandon, then moved to Winnipeg in 1989 and was employed by CFS of central Winnipeg. Carol also attended The University of Manitoba and received her BSW degree. Carol fought cancer for over 30 years and was the inspiration behind the annual RCMP Run For Cancer, which has been instrumental in raising well over one million dollars for cancer research. Carol enjoyed the numerous trips to the Caribbean especially her favourite resort in Jamaica. After retiring from CFS Carol enjoyed several winters at their home in Palm Desert Estates in Yuma, Arizona. She will be sadly missed by all the wonderful Canadian and American snowbirds in Yuma. In addition she thoroughly enjoyed many summer vacations at the family cottage at Katepwa Lake in southern Sask. The family would like to thank all the wonderful medical staff on the 5th floor of the Victoria General Hospital who have taken care of Carol for the past 6 months and also prior to that the staff in the oncology department at Victoria General and HSC. Their compassion and understanding is greatly appreciated. In addition a special thank you is extended to all her friends at Country Villas in East St. Paul.
