EDWIN ZUBERT June 25, 1944 - March 15, 2007 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and friend Edwin Zubert on March 15, 2007. Edwin will be sadly missed by his wife Sylvia; his children, Tanya (Jack), Dan (Lisa); his brothers and sisters, Agatha (Bill), Art (Margaret), Ervin (Laurie), Alma (Karl), Albert (Mary); his mother-in-law Ida; his brothers-in-law, Rolf, Edwin (Luella), David (Grace); and his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Edwin was predeceased by his parents Tania and Darius, father-in-law Harold, brother Arnold and sister Donna. Those who knew Ed knew him as an intelligent, kind man with the gentlest of manners. He had a memorable sense of humour, was eternally patient with others, and had an ability to explain and care for the details of things that few people possess. He was a designer, inventor, builder and teacher at heart. Ed's family immigrated to Canada from Germany when he was a young child, settling first in Minnetonas, and then moving to Winnipeg where he spent the majority of his life. Ed worked for Manitoba Hydro in the engineering profession for 33 years, retiring in 1999. One of his biggest passions in life was playing bridge, at which he excelled and taught others to excel at as well. For many years Ed loved spending time with his family at West Hawk Lake, and he cherished every kind of family gathering he went to. He loved his wife, his family, and his friends - and we loved him back. His family wishes to thank Dr. Cummings and Dr. de Rocquigny for all the care and support they gave Ed over the years. Auf Wiedersehen our dear Ed, may you find peace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, 100 - 4 Fort Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1C4. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road, Saturday March 24, 2007, at 11:00 a.m.

  • Dear Ed was the role model for all men. He was the man we would all aspire to be like: Kind, Friendly, Caring, Intelligent and blessed with a multitude of skills. A man liked and respected by all who met him. I am part of Ed's extended family in the UK and we are all heartbroken at his passing. - Posted by: John Blewitt (Family) on: Mar 22, 2007

  • I will always remember Mr. Zubert as a kind hearted, gentle man. I will also always remember the patience he had with us all, while working on Danny's house, and how the Zubert home was always a welcoming and friendly place. My heart goes out to the whole family, and I hope that in time your sorrow will be replaced with memories of the good times. Love, Joe Sabourin and family. - Posted by: joe sabourin (Friend) on: Mar 20, 2007
