Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR MARCOTTE RICE Victor M. Rice, beloved husband of Paula of Calgary, passed away at home on Friday, March 16, 2007, at the age of 90 years young. Vic was born in Montreal and at the age of six moved with family to Welland, ON. He started his business career in banking November 1, 1934, at the age of 17, retiring from the Royal Bank at the age of 60. In Vic's words, I enjoyed the work and enjoyed meeting people. As a consequence of his outgoing nature, he enjoyed such retirement activities as working for C.A.S.E. (Counselling Small Business Enterprises), and volunteering with C.E.S.O (Canadian Executive Service Overseas).which took him to Costa Rica, Peru and the Dominican Republic. He thoroughly enjoyed his travels and the people he met, forming many lasting friendships with clients both here and abroad, friendships that have been nurtured and that he valued. Closer to home, Vic's volunteering combined his natural love for animals and people by his association with PALS and the Calgary Zoo. His God given talent gave him the ability to connect with children and young people, keeping him young in heart and mind. Vic is survived by his loving wife Paula; his son Victor Bruce; his brother Lorne; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mona; daughter Naida; sisters, Doris and Vi; and brothers, Don and Ken. Funeral services will be held at Highwood Lutheran Church (419 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2. Telephone: 1 (888) 566 - 5864. Special acknowledgement and thanks is extended to Dr. David Todd and his staff for their care and wise counsel over the years. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
