Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) ROBERT MITCHELL Peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Victoria General Hospital, Jack passed away at the age of 85 years. Jack was born on August 23, 1921, in Morris, Manitoba, and later moved to Winnipeg with his parents. He attended the University of Manitoba where he received a Commerce Degree and later attained a Chartered Accountant designation. After a short time with the Federal Government in Ottawa, he returned to Winnipeg and was employed with the Department of Revenue until retirement. Jack was predeceased by his parents Bert and Cora Mitchell. He is survived by first cousins in Winnipeg and Eastern Ontario. Jack was dedicated to his church, The St. Mary's Road United Church and the Masonic Lodge. For many years he was a season ticket holder for the Blue Bombers. He was fond of animals, especially his pet poodle. Many thanks to the homecare staff that allowed him to live in his own home and especially to Tina who was like a second mother to him. Also, many thanks to the doctors and staff for the excellent care during his residence at various hospitals. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, with an interment to follow at the St. Vital cemetery, 236 River Road.
