DORA MOSALOWSKI (DUTCHAK)
Date of Passing: Mar 18, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORA MOSALOWSKI (nee DUTCHAK) Our beloved mother, baba, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007, at the Gimli Community Health Centre on her 93rd birthday. She was the last survivor of the Mosalowski / Dutchak family. Dora leaves to mourn her passing her son Dennis Mosalowski and daughter-in-law Sandy; her daughter Eleanor Demedash and son-in-law Danny; her granddaughter Cynthia Demedash and husband Louis Harnois (and their children, Chloe and Noemie) of Montreal; her grandson Michael Demedash and wife Susan (and their son Kyle) of Philadelphia, PA; her granddaughter Dana Demedash and husband Kelly Baumgartner; numerous nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours, whom she kept dear to her heart. Dora was predeceased by her loving husband Tony in 1988; her parents Daniel and Anna Dutchak; her brothers, Panko, Peter and William; and her sister Mary Yanishewski. She attended King Edward Elementary School in Camp Morton. At the age of 14, she left home to work in Winnipeg. She met her husband Tony through a close friend, Rose Mosalowski, who later became her sister-in-law. In turn, Dora's brother, William, became Rose's husband. As a result, a very close relationship flourished with brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins very often meeting at the Mosalowski farm for Christmas, Easter, birthdays and Sunday celebrations. After marrying Tony on February 16, 1936, she came to live and work on the Mosalowski Farm in Gimli. Here she lived for the next 71 years. This is the homestead that stayed in the Mosalowski name for 100 years. Tony and Dora's home was the weekend destination, family base and safe haven for any and all family and friends. Aunt Dora was always there to welcome them with home cooking and a heart full of love. After Tony passed away, her neighbours, by being so good, kind, loving and supportive to her, made it easy for her to continue to live in her own home. Dora was a very quiet, kind, good, gentle, loving and giving person who wished everyone would live in love, peace and harmony. She loved each and every one of her family members, relatives, neighbours and friends with a passionate heart. She left us this beautiful legacy, and we will all miss her dearly. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church, 50-3rd Ave., Gimli, with viewing for one hour prior to service time with Pastor Ron Vert officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Ghost Cemetery on PR 231. Her honorary pallbearers will be all her relatives and friends. Her pallbearers will be Kelly Baumgartner, Joey Cherniak, Scott Pytel, Cliff Ryback, Lawrence Sigurdur and Michael Yanishewski. Many thanks to Pastor Ron Vert and Dr. Benshaban and his medical team at the Gimli Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gimli Lutheran Church, Box 118, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0, or the Holy Ghost Cemetery, in care of Marnie Klym, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0, or to a charity of your choice. While we never got to know Dora, based on our friendship with Dennis, we are sure she was a gentle, giving, kind, and loving person. Glen and Ruth Krentz - Posted by: Glen Krentz (Friend of son Dennis) on: Nov 12, 2021
