Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHUGH GILBERT CLANCY On March 20, 2007, after a valiant struggle with heart disease, it is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Hugh Clancy. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Linda (nee Loewen); his two daughters, Christine (Rob) and Celine. He was a proud Papa Hughie to Celine's children, Scott, Regan and Tessa. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia (Hal) Janzen and Kathleen (Gary) Paterson; mother-in-law Eva Loewen; brother-in-law Al Loewen (MaryAnn); brother-in-law Ray Loewen (Madeleine); brother-in-law Ron Hannah (Pat deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews. Hugh was born in Edmonton on October 8, 1937 and moved to Manitoba when he was a year old. He lived in and around Winnipeg until 1985 when he was transferred to the Toronto area. Hugh worked in the steel service centre industry for 40 years, starting with Drummond McCall in 1959 and retiring with Russel Metals in 1998. This was an industry he truly loved. Throughout his illness, Hugh was treated by so many wonderful care workers and medical staff and we would like to thank each and every one of them. A sincere thank you to all family and friends who visited or kept in touch with him during his lengthy illness. We truly appreciated your gestures of kindness and support. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment in Winnipeg at a later date. If so desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in kind to charities Hugh really identified with - Halton Women's Place (www.haltonwomensplace.com) Habitat for Humanity (www.habitat.ca/makeadonationc7.php) or Christian Childrens Fund (www.ccfcanada.ca/sponsor/donation.asp) It has been a long goodbye, but he will always remain in our hearts.
