OLOF (LOA) LILLIAN SIMPSON (nee DANIELSON) Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, Loa passed away at the Heritage Lodge, at the age of 91. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Ron (Sheila) of Delta, British Columbia, and Dan (Jean) of La Salle, Manitoba; her five grandchildren, Jim (Susan) of Toronto, Ontario, Ric (Bonnie) of Kelowna, British Columbia, Kim (Ross) Burns, Cory (Tara) of Delta, British Columbia, and Shauna (Michael) Bailey of Winnipeg, Manitoba; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Cameron, Michael, Sarah and Emma. Loa was predeceased by her husband Jim on April 12, 1984. Loa was born on Hecla Island on November 20, 1915, to Wilemina and Thorliver Danielson. In 1933 she moved to Bissett where she met her husband Jim, and they raised their two sons there. Loa was very active in her community and was always willing to help. Loa and Jim retired in Winnipeg in 1965, to be close to their family and friends. Loa was extremely proud of her family and especially devoted to her grandchildren. She took pride in knitting and crocheting sweaters, mittens, scarves, socks and an afghan for each one of her grandchildren. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for the kind and compassionate care shown to Loa by the staff at Heritage Lodge. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with a reception to follow. If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R0C 4G2.
