Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ALPHONSE CAMPEAU (aka Woody Woodpecker) On March 17, 2007, at his residence, Peter Alphonse Campeau, aged 68 years, of Lake Manitoba First Nation. Alphie was born on July 9, 1938. He was well-known within the community for his humorous laughter which was contagious, and often referred to himself as The Joker. Alphie was a very generous person, always willing to give a helping hand. He worked for many years as a welder in Winnipeg. Alphie always had a little gift for anyone who went to visit him. He was always willing to take on people he had met and consider them as family. He loved trapping, hunting, cooking and visiting with people. He was known to sing his favourite song Like a Bird (song title - May You Never Be Alone Like Me - sung by Hank Williams Sr.). Alfie used to ride his bike to Sandy Bay to see his grandchildren and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing his children, daughters, Connie (Eric) Roulette, Debbie (Ralph) Beaulieu, Yvonne (Nelson) Swan, Eva Jane McLean, Janice (Monk) Campeau and Diane Desjarlais; sons, Darryl Campeau, Arden (Glennis) Campeau and Jonathan (Debra) Campeau; 43 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Clifford (Eleanor) Maytwayashing, Fred (Sandra) Maytwayashing and Lynn Murphy; sister-in-law Sarah (Bruce) Choken; and his sister Gertie (Gilbert) Chartrand. He was predeceased by his wife Cecilia Campeau in 1985; numerous in-laws; his dad Steve Reynolds in January 2007; his mom Harriet; brothers, Napoleon, Roderick, Wilfred, Roland, David George and Joseph; his sister Connie; and grandchildren. Wake services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2007, and Friday, March 23, 2007, at Sarah Choken's residence, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on the Lake Manitoba First Nation. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lake Manitoba School Gymnasium with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Reserve Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Perry Swan, Francis Campeau, Trevor McLean, Ian Campeau, Jeffrey Desjarlais and Andrew Mousseau. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Monkman, Douglas Paul and Leslie Monkman, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and relatives. The family would like to thank members of the Ashern and Lundar RCMP, and all the community members at Lake Manitoba for all the help and support. arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD.
