Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICK JAMES BASCHUK Nick James Baschuk of Dauphin, MB, passed away on March 20, 2007, at the age of 85 years. Nick was born at Weiden, MB, to Mike and Ava Baschuk on June 26, 1921. He received his education in Weiden. After his schooling, he joined the army and served in the Second World War. After the war, he moved to Flin Flon, MB, where he married Sophie (nee Galay) on January 27, 1945, in Flin Flon, MB. After his retirement from Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting, they moved to Dauphin in 1996. Nick was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Joe, Pete, Jack; sisters, Annie, Jenny, Polly, Cassie; and his son Christopher Baschuk. He is survived by his wife Sophie Baschuk of Dauphin; sons, Ron (Anita) Baschuk of Creighton, SK, Russell (Norma) Baschuk of Winnipeg, MB; daughter-in-law Nettie Baschuk of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Stephen, Kevin, Jessica, Matthew, Colleen (Craig), Brent (Tara); as well as his brother Mike Baschuk of Dauphin; his sisters, Mary Feduik of Dauphin and Elsie Jastrebski (Carl) of Timmins, ON; as well as numerous friends and extended family. Prayers will be offered Sunday evening, March 25 at 8:00 p.m. from Sneath Strilchuk Funeral Chapel, Dauphin, MB. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. from Dauphin's Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection. Rev Oleg Bodnarski will officiate and interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Rorketon, MB. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Nick to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Sneath Strilchuk Funeral Service has care of the arrangements.
