Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINALD (REG) JOHN ANDREW HARRIS May 23, 1916 - March 20, 2007 It is with great sorrow we announce his peaceful passing after a short illness at Seven Oaks Hospital. Reg was predeceased by his parents John and Florence Harris; also his stepmom Elsie Leader; brother Norman; and nephew Alvin Harris. Reg will be dearly missed by his surviving family: Audrey, love of his life of 58 years; children, Louise (Don), Len, Marj (Dave) and Phyllis (Rory). Pop's memory will be forever cherished by his grandchildren, Clint (Nikki), Jessie (Christen), Jason, Kelly (Erin), Amanda (Daniel), Shae (Steve), Becky (Rob), Katie (Steve), Brendon, Meghan, Mike; and also great-grandchildren, Jaden, Cassidy, Kayla, Dana and Madison. Reg will lovingly be remembered by his brothers, Rueben (Dorothy), Ralph (Ida); and sisters, Eleanor, Connie, Daisy, Judy (Bill); and sister-in-law Lenore; and many nieces and nephews. Reg was born in Mare, SK, worked on the family farm and played a lot of baseball in his younger years. He joined The South Sask. Regiment and served in Europe during the Second World War. He was captured at Dieppe and spent the rest of the war as a POW. March 11, 1949, he married Audrey Brady and raised four children in Saskatchewan, moving to Manitoba in 1959. After retiring from MTS he became a working member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 30. He made many lifelong friends and reunited with old ones. Reg had a passion for baseball, golf, hockey, kids and animals. He will be remembered as a man larger than life with a quick wit, great heart and a vibrant personality. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for their compassion and care to Dr. Crawford, Dr. Wong and the nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital and to all our friends and family who have lent their support through this difficult time. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of Winnipeg. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Alan Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
