KATHARINA NEUFELD (KLASSEN)

KATHARINA NEUFELD (nee KLASSEN) Katharina Neufeld was born on May 22, 1924, the oldest daughter of John A. W. and Tina Klassen. Mom was born at Rosenheim. She passed away March 20, 2007, at the age of 82 years, nine months and 29 days. She was baptized upon confession of her faith at Grosswiede in 1938. She became a member of the Mennonite Brethren Conference, which she remained a member of till her passing. She married our dad Henry J. Neufeld on November 15, 1942. She is survived by daughter Margaret and husband Ed Harder; daughter Mary Anne and husband Glen Calder; son Harvey and wife Lil; son Howard and wife Pat; eight grandsons, seven granddaughters, 11 great-grandsons, 10 great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by one sister Anne and her husband Martin Dueck of Altona; two brothers, Jack Klassen and his wife Marge of Kelowna, BC, Harry Ruben Klassen and his wife Betty of Winnipeg. She is also survived by Dad's brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her parents John A. W. Klassen and Tina Klassen of Horndean; her husband Henry J. Neufeld of Horndean in 1981. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Tina and Elnora; and one brother Laverne; and one grandson Kenneth Harder; by five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law; and her parents-in-law John and Elizabeth Neufeld. Funeral services for Katharina Tienie Neufeld will be held on March 25, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altona EMM Church.
