KENNETH ROSS HUTTON It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our devoted Husband, Daddy and Poppy, Kenneth Ross Hutton, on March 21, 2007. Kenny was predeceased by his parents Kenneth Porter Hutton and Jeanie Campbell Hutton; and his brother Bryan Hutton. He will be lovingly cherished by his wife of 40 years, Barbara; his daughters, Leif (Brent) and Rilla; and his special boys, Odin-Bang, Camden, Diaz and Leland. Kenny will also be greatly missed by his two sisters, Shoana (Tim) and Kim (Richard); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbours. Kenny was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, in August of 1946 and traveled to Canada in November of 1946 with his mother. The family settled in Rivers where Kenny attended school until the age of 15 when he left to join the Royal Canadian Navy. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Kenny reunited with his childhood sweetheart and married on April 29, 1967. Their early years of marriage were filled with horse shows and travel until the fall of 1974 when Kenny and Barb purchased 80 acres in Petersfield. They still had a passion for horses having 28 at the time of the birth of their first child in 1976 followed by the birth of their second daughter in 1979. The farm evolved over the years to include Jersey Cows, Register Nubian Goats as well as Border Collies. When Kenny was not farming he was a professional volunteer and could often be found leading a 4-H meeting, judging a horse show, coaching a t-ball team, ringing a cow bell at a local soccer game, teaching Sunday School or attending a church board meeting. In most recent years Kenny's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was active with Meals on Wheels as well as Palliative Care and attended the local bible study groups as well as enjoyed spending time quilting. Kenny always loved to garden and could often be heard telling people, I knew those cucumbers personally. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 26, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at The Clandeboye United Church, Clandeboye, Manitoba, with Reverend Judy Limpright presiding. Fellowship to follow at the Clandeboye Community Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba in Kenny's name. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
