Born in Winnipeg on August 31, 1924, Thelma was an extremely devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always putting the needs of everyone else before her own. She was also very devoted to all who knew her and always had a kind word for everyone. Thelma enjoyed many many years of travel, beginning first by car in 1957 when she went with her family to Toronto and Montreal. She continued this tradition for the next 50 years across most of Canada and the United States as well as adding Israel into the mix with her last trip being to Hawaii, her favourite winter vacation spot, just a few months ago. During Morris and Thelma's life together, they worked side by side with her helping in his career and being his lifelong partner. She was very active in community life, past president in Hadassah, member of the Sisterhood at the B'nai Abraham Synagogue, as well as secretary / treasurer of the Stream Liners. Her biggest delight was her Sunday dinners with the family, always having her camera along to capture the moments. You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back Or you can be full of the love you shared. Your can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she's gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Written by David Harkins Thelma will be forever missed by all those who loved her and were touched by her.
